What if my guests don’t know what to say?

Don't worry, nobody is expected to prepare a speech or come up with something profound on the spot.
One of the biggest advantages of Love Notes is that I'll guide every conversation. As your celebrant, I've already spent time getting to know your story, so I know the questions that will spark meaningful memories, funny anecdotes and heartfelt reflections.
Some guests will have plenty to say. Others may need a little gentle prompting. Either way, I'll help everyone feel comfortable, relaxed and confident in front of the camera.
The best moments are often the unscripted ones — the unexpected stories, the laughter between questions, the memories that hadn't been thought about in years and the genuine emotion that appears when people start talking about someone they love.
Which guests do you interview?

Before the wedding, I'll ask you to create a shortlist of the people whose messages will mean the most to you — parents, grandparents, siblings, best friends and other VIPs.
Rather than trying to interview every guest, I focus on capturing messages from the people closest to you. This allows for deeper, more personal reflections rather than rushed well wishes.
With ninety minutes between your ceremony and reception, there's plenty of time to capture a beautiful collection of voices, memories and messages.
When does filming take place?

Love Notes is filmed during cocktail hour — that sweet spot between your ceremony and reception when the celebrations are in full swing and everyone is riding the high of your "just married" moment.
I'll mix with your guests during cocktail hour and invite your favourite people to share a few minutes with me. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable and completely pressure-free.
Filming during cocktail hour also means guests are present and fully engaged before the reception festivities kick into full gear.

How long is the final video?
While audio guestbooks can be fun, Love Notes offers something much more personal and immersive.
Rather than leaving guests to record messages on their own, I'll personally prompt and guide each conversation, helping people feel comfortable to share their messages for you.
Most importantly, video allows you to see as well as hear your loved ones. Their smiles, expressions, laughter and personalities mean that years from now, you'll be able to relive not just what was said, but how it felt to be surrounded by your loved ones on your wedding day.
Your finished Love Notes film will typically run between 10 and 15 minutes.
I've found this to be the perfect length — long enough to capture plenty of heartfelt moments and personality, while remaining something you'll genuinely want to revisit over the years.
