What if my guests don’t know what to say?

Don't worry — nobody is expected to prepare a speech or come up with something profound on the spot.
One of the biggest advantages of Love Notes is that I'll guide every conversation. As your celebrant, I've already spent time getting to know your story, so I know the questions that will spark meaningful memories, funny anecdotes and heartfelt reflections.
Some guests will have plenty to say. Others may need a little gentle prompting. Either way, I'll help everyone feel comfortable, relaxed and confident in front of the camera.
The best moments are often the unscripted ones — the unexpected stories, the laughter between questions, the memories that hadn't been thought about in years and the genuine emotion that appears when people start talking about someone they love.
Which guests do you interview?

Before the wedding, I'll ask you to create a shortlist of the people whose messages will mean the most to you — parents, grandparents, siblings, best friends and other VIPs.
Rather than trying to interview every guest, I focus on capturing meaningful conversations with the people closest to you. This allows for deeper, more personal stories and reflections rather than rushed well wishes.
With ninety minutes dedicated to filming between your ceremony and reception, there's plenty of time to capture a beautiful collection of voices, memories and messages from the people you treasure most.
When does filming take place?

Love Notes is filmed during cocktail hour — that sweet spot between your ceremony and reception when the celebrations are in full swing and everyone is riding the high of your "just married" moment.
I'll set up in a beautiful corner of your venue and personally invite your favourite people to come and share a few minutes with me and the camera. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable and completely pressure-free.
Because I already know your story and have spent time getting to know you as a couple, I can guide meaningful conversations that uncover heartfelt memories, funny stories and genuine reflections. The result is a collection of candid, natural moments that capture just how much love surrounded you on your wedding day.

How long is the final video?
While audio guestbooks can be fun, Love Notes offers something much more personal and immersive.
Rather than leaving guests to record messages on their own, I'll personally guide each conversation, helping people feel comfortable and drawing out meaningful stories, memories and reflections.
Filming during cocktail hour also means guests are relaxed, present and fully engaged before the reception festivities kick into full gear.
Most importantly, video allows you to see as well as hear your loved ones. Their smiles, expressions, laughter and personalities become part of the memory too. Years from now, you'll be able to relive not just what was said, but how it felt to be surrounded by all of your favourite people in one place.
Your finished Love Notes film will typically run between 10 and 15 minutes.
I've found this to be the perfect length — long enough to capture plenty of heartfelt moments and personality, while remaining something you'll genuinely want to revisit again and again over the years.
Every film is carefully edited to include the most meaningful, entertaining and emotional moments, creating a keepsake that feels engaging from beginning to end.
